Graphics card fans not spinning

Hello,

When i play games my graphics card fans are not spinning and within 30 mins of playing the fps drop to 2-3 and the graphical settings turn to minimum automatically.

I have to restart the game for it to work again but the same thing happens.

However when i use afterburner the fans work fine

I have reconnected the power connectors, checked for dust, installed the card into another slot, and i have reinstalled the nvidea drivers.

My temperatures are always below 50.

This is only a recent problem it has been working fine for months.

Specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7 5820K s2011 v3
PSU: 650W Corsair RM650X ATX PSU
GPU: 8G MSI GTX1070 ARMOR OC
MOBO: Asus X99-A II Motherboard
RAM: 2x8G CorsVengLPX White DDR4 30
HDD: 250GB 850 EVO MZ-75E250BW/EU
2ND HDD: 1TB SGATE ST1000DM003 SATA3
COOLER: CMASTER HYPER 212 EVO Cooler

I have contacted nvidea and they directed me to MSI which im waiting for a reply from.

The fans will not spin until the graphics card gets to 60C. This shouldn't cause you any of the problems you mentioned. I'm stumped as to why it is causing you issues.

IF possible, put the GPU into another rig to see if the problem persists. If you're still within the return window, good idea to send it back. Otherwise, its still under warranty from MSI.

Hi thanks for the quick replies guys, the ZeroFrostr technology explains why there not moving then and I don't have a second rig to try it on unfortunately. I might try and return it after i get a reply from MSI.

This guy is describing exactly what I am experiencing when i play ARMA 3, however I have a 64-bit OS.

I have deleted and reinstalled all of the files and games, mods etc.
