I bought a gtx 460 and it is not detected by my motherboard but the fans are spinning, I then purchased a radeon 6850, thinking the first graphics card was broken but I get the same problem. How do I fix this?

I think the problem is with ur motherboard x16 slot . Consult a specialist . Also make sure gpus are getting full power from psu via 6 pin connectors .

please give system specs...cpu, mobo, psu, etc...
Depending on mobo you might have to go to bios and set initial graphics to pci-e..but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it..JQ

I have the power plugged in correctly. I was thinking the pci slot was broken or something?

CPU: q6600
Mobo: mcp73pv
PSU:400W FSP 80+ CERTIFIED

I know the power supply is under the recommended power but I used extreme power calculator which said i only needed a 280W psu. Also there is nowhere in my bios to change initial graphics.
