Graphics Card Fits into PCIE Slot but the Latch Won't Lock Into Place

So I just got an MSI GTX 1070 Ti.

When I installed the GPU, it fit fine into the PCIE slot, but for some reason the latch won't lock into place. I looked closely and it seems that the little thing that the latch is supposed to hook onto (this) is too big for the latch to lock into place.

I knew it was 100% in the slot and so I just screwed it into place and booted up my PC. It works perfectly fine but I just wanted to be 100% that I didn't mess something up.

Solution
The latch is supposed to fit over the top of the "L". Have you tried using a small insulated tool to push the latch over the "L"? Any way you can get a clear photo of the situation with the card in place?
There's nothing wrong with using the PC that way, but moving it could cause it to work loose.

Thanks for letting me know that it's fine to use it. I think I'm just gonna leave it just because I've seen far too many horror stories of people having their GPU get stuck in their PCIE slots due to a really tight latch lock.
