I would like replace my graphics card to one that can support 3 or 4 monitors. Gaming is not a requirement, it is for programming work and such.I have been suggested the Radeon Saphire r7 FLEX 250x 1G GDDR5, which seems to have worked for non-Ubuntu users for even 4 simultaneous displays in Amazon reviews. No need for gaming grade animation and stuff, just a spread of the desktop over 3 or 4 monitors without trouble.

I've not found evidence that this model is supported on Ubuntu however. Closest I found was this.

Are you able to suggest an alternative card that can satisfy my scenario?

Many Thanks!

AMD graphics cards are not very well supported by Linux (i.e., the drivers are a POS). You should use an Nvidia video card, if possible, as their drivers have better support. Albeit depending on which, per se, I recommend an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960, as it can support up to 4 monitors.

I've heard similar statements about Nvidia cards/drivers :) In fact I even personallyI could not make Ubuntu use a second Nvidia card for adding the additional displays.

GTX 960 a little pricey..

Thanks for laying out these good options! it might really help!!

Can't fathom what you actually mean by the question. Care to clarify? :)
