Hey, I was wondering what would be a good graphics card for a 4k productivity setup, no gaming is going to be done on this machine, just things like Microsoft office, coding and watching videos.
Basically I think anything having over 4gigs of VRAM should do the trick if you ain't gonna game on it. An example GTX 1060 with 6 gigs of VRAM should be enough for 4k productivity and watching videos and it won't break your budget like higher class cards like 1070 and 1080. Of course if you ain't doing hardcore video editing or something like that you can go lower on the card since you won't be using all that memory and speed.
the GT 1030 is the best thing for such things, it has a chip with h.265 support. Only thing is that netflix and 4k is not yet compatible I think. Hopefully a driver update can fix this in the near future.
But even kabylake CPUs with integrated graphics will work for this. Which CPU are you using?
Just wanted to show from my previous post, that there could be problems with streaming services in 4k, amazon as well I think. Watching videos can be videos on a drive or over the net, streaming videos.
Not only TVs. Monitors, which are supporting HDCP 2.2 would work too.
