Hi everyone, so I have a question. I am doing a computer build, and I am a video editor that does video effects and stuff like that, and I was wondering, is the Radeon HD 7850 2GB going to be good for me? If not, what is the best graphics card that I could get under $200?

Solution

I think you meant hd 7850
Most important is the cpu - lots of fast cores.

Next - lots of fast ram.

Then the graphics card.

If the editor only uses open GL hardware assistance then radeon eg HD7580 is a good choice. Otherwise nVidia is good. Have a look at the editor pc/system requirements.

For $200, the best card would be an R9 270x

I'd have to check on vegas, but for CS6 I'd go with Nvidia. You can get a good 750 TI (EVGA, Asus, MSI) for a little over $100, or a good 760 for @ $220. 770 works very well, but cost over $300 unless you get a used one.
As i7 Baby stated above, a solid 4-core or better chip and lots of RAM are more important than the GPU. RAM speed I'd recommend at 1866 CAS 9 - according to Anandtech testing, higher bandwidth scales better if you're using a Haswell chip, but CS6 doesn't much care if you're using 1866, 2133, 2400, etc. If you go with lower bandwidth like 1600, you'll see some dragging. I'd stick with 1866, but get a lot of it.
