I can do that with my 7900gtx now. They might actually cost less then they used to, or even less than the 8600gts.

at that resoultion you'll be looking at an hd 3870, best for the price, and your in luck, price just dropped again. pick one up for as little as a 140 over here http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=+40000048&Configurator=&Subcategory=-1&description=HD+3870&Ntk=&srchInDesc=

but you probably won't be satisfied with any of the cards you listed, or better yet, you can wait for the 4000 series which is supposed to kick even more butt for your gaming dollar, then you can just max it all out with no problem. (hopefully). They should be hitting newegg's shelves soon. If you can't wait, i suggest nothing less than a 3870, low power consumption add a little overclock if you want ( i got decent results with the one from gigabyte), and it's inexpensive.

FPS means Frames Per Second, the higher the FPS, the smoother the games will be. For me you need 25 FPS to consider a game playable and there is no noticeable difference over 60 FPS.

Unfortunately, none of the cards you listed will be able to give you a decent experience with medium settings @ 1680x1050. You have to understand that Crysis is THE most demanding game right now, much like Oblivion was about a year ago. To achieve this, you will probably need, as someone else suggested, at least an ATI HD3870. You have to consider that there is nothing preventing you from using a lower resolution, but the rest of the system might also be a limiting factor.

Agree with others here, if you want to play Crysis at the resolutions you are talking about, you are going to need much more video card than you looking at.
An 8800GT is minimum I would go for, an 8800GTS 512 if you can swing it, but you are going to have to get a better power supply as well, if you want to get ANY card that is going to play Crysis very well at all. That's about all there is to it.

The older 8800gts seems to perform worse in Crysis against cards in performance range.

The 320mb also is the limit up to 1280x1024 resolution @ high detail with crysis and then it starts to texture thrash above that.

To: OP a 8600gt or 3650 is not going to cut it @ medium unless you run low resolution. I barely got away @ 1280x1024 with medium settings on a overclocked 8600gts. Average of 28fps and when I got to the end I had to turn some stuff to low to get playable frame rates. A 8600gt is slower than that.

Your best bet is getting a 8800gs, 9600gt, 8800gt. These cards seem to perform the best with Crysis for the price.

I get so freaking tired of seeing "bottleneck" post nonsense.
I don't know what you people are smoking but you really need to go back and relearn everything you ever knew about PC's, because you have apparently gotten side-tracked by all the fan-boy's somewhere along the way.

If you are talking about constant 25fps and constant 60fps than I agree. Since frame rates fluctuate. An average of 25fps is barely playable. 60fps average would be better.
