Question Graphics card for video- editing

Hi, friends!

I am looking for a graphics card for entry level video editing. I am learning Adobe Premier Pro and need a card that would not crush. I build 2 computers with nVidia 3070TI and 4070 TI and I didnt test it. Those computers at another location. i should go and test them and if they work well, I would know what I need but I want to build small system with upcoming 14th generation I7 and was wondering if you have ideas of what to use instead of 4070 TI that less gaming, more Creator oriented but under $1000. Thank you very much.

Honestly would look at a Mac mini. It’s tiny, energy efficient and for less than you’re spending on a 14th gen i7 with 4070Ti you’ll get solid performance with an M2 Pro. Plus no issues with thermals.

I love apple computers ive got a few of the rare retro ones ( G4 cube and the 21inch G4 lampshade imac ) and ive got 2 mac mini's and apples OS is second to none ..

BUT

I walked away from Apple because they are literally very expensive throw away items which is why i moved to DIY PC building you can part them out over time and upgrade components to suit your needs !!

The same principle applies? You do the same with components once you’re done with them. They’re still very expensive throwaway items. I’ve recently thrown away a PSU and an AIO for example.

Throwaway systems aren't the same as components.

OP means Apple machines are throwaway since IF replacement parts exist or can be upgraded they cost more than another machine.

What you are referring to are individual components and entirely different. Those can be replaced with ease at acceptable costs.

Not really? Replacing a CPU and GPU is still over a grand. You’re just replacing it piecemeal vs in one lump the end result is the same. You’re also saving a significant amount in power as a Mac mini maxes out is a 100W system. A 13700K system with only a CPU load nears 400. You’re taking 600-700W for everything at a normal load which saves you around 250 a year

The power load was an odd flex that had nothing to do with my comment but since you went there, you're correct, the benchmarks also reflect the performance difference of a low watt CPU.

That aside, sure you can look at it that way. However, one part breaks in a Mac, it's a paperweight, one breaks in a PC you buy a replacement parts at any electronics store or Amazon

Thank you for your replies. My boyfriend keeps saying, "Get a Mac" but I am Windows enthusiast, built several Windows systems. I got to test 3070 TI with I9 12th generation processor for video editing and got mixed results. It took not sure how long, maybe an hour to render 5 minutes video. The monitor was blinking and turning off while it was rendering- I left the system alone to do the work as it was unusable. I also have DP KVM switch that often blinks, but it was different behavior while rendering. Something is making loud electrical sound that comes from the speaker when computer is under load. I asked about it on the forum before and somebody suggested it could be a fan, but the sound comes from speeker, it is audio sound, like tttttttttttttttttttttttttt, and when load increases, the sound becomes more intense and monitor starts to blink or goes off completely. I never heard this sound on my Asus motherboard builds, this one is with premium flagship Gigabyte Aorus, it sounds like motherboard is not insulated and audio picks electrical current.
