Graphics Card/ HDMI/ Monitor VGA

Hi there,

My son who is 13 is really getting into gaming on his pc , we have just brought a new gaming monitor.. and upgraded his graphics card which has both vga and hdmi outlets.. can someone tell me do I just connect the hdmi from the graphics card direct to the monitor or do I also
Need to plug the vga cable into the graphics card and to the monitor as well.. or will just the hdmi from graphics card to
Monitor the best setup ..

Many thanks for the quick reply, sorry quite new to this.. so at the moment I’ve plugged the hdmi from graphics card straight into the monitor, however if there is another hdmi port on the base unit two and a second hdmi on monitor I should do that as well as or just leave it as the hdmi from
Graphics card to
Monitor ?? And completely leave out the vga cable.. sorry I’m advsnce

Graphics card to monitor. Ignore the VGA and any other HDMI ports (those are for the integrated graphics of the CPU, you don't want to use that).

As long as you're sure you've got the monitor connected to the GPU, that's all you need.
