Hi I have a Radeon Sapphire HD7850 1GB and I wanted 3 monitors so I have one in the hdmi port and the dvi port so I got an adapter for the 3rd monitor which was a DVI D to vga but apprently you can't use both DVI and DVI D

you have to use either the DVI or DVI D then display port and hdmi so You can't us e both the DVI ports is this true

The Radeon HD7850 supports four monitors, and since it has only has four output ports they must therefore all be useable at the same time if you do a simple maths sum. And unless I am mistaken, that card only has one DVI port, not two that you seem to suggest: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/product_index.aspx?pid=1499&lid=1

Your problem is most likely caused by using one of those cr*p monitor adapters. Your third monitor needs to have a DisplayPort so you don't need to use an adapter. You can then plug that third monitor in to one of the card's two DisplayPorts.
