graphics card help ?

So ive been building a computer and all thats left is the graphics card at first i was all for building this till i realised none of my friends are intrested in it so i will constantly be torn between getting a game on pc for good graphics and maybe mod compatibility and then xbox for playing with my friends and having a good laugh ...

but i guess if its only a graphics card left to get i may aswell finish it ? at first i was going for a gtx 970 but now i dont know due to it costing nearly £300 , whats a great card that will hold games on great graphics etc for my build but wont break the budget ?

This. You don't need that cpu cooler for a locked cpu (non k).

You will get what you pay for in graphics cards at every price point.
For a balanced gamer, I suggest a budget of 2x the cpu cost for the graphics card.
By that reasoning, a GTX970 would be very appropriate.
It will need a quality 500w psu. This would be appropriate if you play fast action shooters.

Or, you could go for something like a GTX750ti which is a very competent low power card.
It will run on a decent 300w psu.
This would be appropriate if you play sims mmo's, strategy and slower action games

Just go for GTX970 if you can afford it and get a quality PSU 500watt and above.If you don't want GTX970 you can take a look for R9 290 or GTX 770.

yes ive bought all these parts , i was recommended to buy a cooler as the stock one can be loud ?

also bought XFX 550W PSU +80 bronze
