Graphics Card holder broke off

The holder that is supposed to hold my graphics card up has broken, the upper part broke through. As I heard of many disasters of a graphics card ripping out a PCI-Express Slot I wondered how i can fix this without buying a new case. (For evaluation of weight I bought a 1070 ti by Kfa2). If any of you have a suggestion please let me know.

Is this a vertical bracket (using a PCIe extender cable), or is the card slotted directly into the motherboard?

Are we talking the metal side bracket on the card that screws to the case, the case bracket, or the locking lever on the slot itself?

Pics would help to clarify.
