the 1080 has an 8 pin slot. instead of using the 8 pin connector I just used a 6 pin + 2 pin Pcie cable. is this an issue. it is still 8 pins.

It is still fine. as long as it has 8 pins ur fine.

That is what the 6+2 pin is... an 8-pin connector.
