graphics card is not getting detected and i cant find the drivers

Hey. My graphics card cant get recognised by the driver install disk that was sent with it and i cant find any drivers for the model that i have.
This is the model that i have : 2GB XFX Radeon HD 7870 Double Dissipation Edition, 4800MHz GDDR5, 28nm, GPU 1000MHz, 1280 Cores. Can someone tell me why it isn't recognised and/or link the right drivers for it Please. Thank you.
The Motherboard is the Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H, Intel B75, S 1155, DDR3, SATA III - 6Gb/s, PCIe 3.0 (x16), D-Sub/ DVI-D/ HDMI, Micro ATX.
Can someone tell me why it isn't recognised and/or link the right drivers for it Please. Thank you.

EDIT: turns out i had it plugged into the mobo and not gpu in the first place for hdmi 😛 so i switched it to gpu but there is no visual output at all i tried changing it in the bios to pci and then peg but still no visual and weirdly when i returned to the bios those settings weren't saved at all so im not sure if it had any effect, is it possible the gpu may be broken and i have to return it?

Make sure on the gpu both power plug are connected not just one. If your uing a newer intel or amd mb and were using the onboard video. You ave to go into the bios under primary video device and change it from ipgpu to peg-pci. Then put the video cable on the gpu. Let windows boot with the gpu working then go to amd and run there driver detect program to get the right driver or download from amd the newest ccc drivers.

Have you also installed the Intel chipset support drivers?

You have to go by the distributor and not the manufacturer of the chipset, XFX is the distrubtor -

There are 4 versions of the Double D... best to use drivers specific to your version ..

XFX drivers are the same as the AMD drivers and the XFX site has given a link to AMD download, you just need to select your preferences -

There is an option to auto-detect and install, it might be worth doing.
