Question Graphics card issue - Constant crashing

I recently upgraded form a 960 to a RTX 2060 6gb, I brought Ark and played for a while i started to get crashes but only now and then and then i could play fine which wasn't really a problem. However the problem occurred when i tried to play fortnite i only recently downloaded it and played for 10 mins when i get this crash error:

And from then on o could not play at all crashing withing 10 seconds to 15 mins of playing. It is horrible and i have tried absolutely everything which includes:

• Rolling back to previous drivers (2060 only has a few so even the first ever driver didn't work)
• Regedit (adding the TdrLevel)
• Underclocking GPU ( not sure if i did it right though i only Turned down core clock)

-Changing settings in game

Is that the ONLY game crashing on your PC, which is FORTNITE, or even others (excluding ARK) ?? Just out of curiosity, which PSU model are you using to power that RTX GPU ?

No I'm also crashing on Ark survival evolved just not as frequently I dont really play anything els at at least with this graphics card. My PSU is a 600W 80 Plus Certified Power supply

My specs are:

RTX 2060 6Gb
Ryzen 5 1500x
4x4Gb DDr4 3000mgz
B350 mother board
600w gold power supply

Can you first try playing some other graphic demanding games as well on your PC, IF possible ? Assuming you have other games on your LIBRARY. I just want to narrow down this issue. If not, then have you tried doing a FRESH OS install as well ?

Is the OS fully updated, including VC++/.NET framework ? Which OS are you using, Windows 10 ? I suggest you also do a CLEAN re-install of the GPU drivers, by using the DDU tool. Also, like quoted above, please mention the exact make/model number of that 600W PSU as well.

This could be an issue specific to a particular game, so to rule this out, try playing other games, if possible. What is the GPU/CPU TEMP when the crash occurs ?

I am on a Fresh install of windows but i dont know how to check if my VC++/.NET framework is up to date and im on windows 10 pro. I have dried a DDU and clean install. Also how do i find my power supply its EVGA one.

My temps seem fine My GPU was at exactly 57 Degrees and CPU was pretty much the same, whith ark my GPU temps are alot higher but i think thats usual becuase its a more GPU based game

Never mind the software installed on your OS, since they should be up fully updated as well. For the PSU, open the ATX cabinet, and find the Lable printed on the unit. Note down the Model number. But, I'm NOT saying PSU is the culprit here.

This doesn't seem to be related to PSU,, because it's an UNREAL ENGINE issue IMO, and it seems to be widespread as well. Check the following links. Similar issues::

Unfortunately none of these fixes solved my problem still constant crashing, It seems that only people getting the 'Hung' Error are fixing it but not people getting the 'Removed' Error.
Also a lot of the fixes are for Unreal engine and not fortnite as i cannot disable realtime thumbnails and such or maybe im being dumb and theres a way.

Is that a WHITE Model ? EVGA 600 W1, 80+ WHITE 600W, 100-W1-0600-K3, or some other.

If yes, then that's a basic 80 plus, low-end PSU from EVGA. Not the very best, and I won't advice you to use this particular unit to power the RTX GPU. Even though the current issue which you are facing is NOT related to PSU, I would surely recommend you upgrade your PSU as well, if possible.

Having a high-quality PSU on your RIG, might be beneficial in the long run. Less risk of frying other PC components as well. Just my 2 cents. Check this thread as well. Another user is having issues with his GPU, he was using a similar PSU:

Yes, I was talking about the PSU, not the GPU artifacts. That user is obviously having a totally different issue. Sorry for the confusion.

No, I don't think so. But like I have mentioned above, even though the current issue which you are facing is NOT related to PSU, I would surely recommend you upgrade your PSU as well, if possible. Having a high-quality PSU on your RIG, might be beneficial in the long run. Less risk of frying other PC components as well. Just my 2 cents.

If you have the cash, then surely do an upgrade. Otherwise leave it. BTW, to rule out the PSU, try testing your GPU with some other power supply unit, OR check the GPU on a totally different PC, if possible. NEVER skimp on the PSU, since this is the MOST important component of any gaming RIG.

Ok thank you I will upgrade when i can, my brother has my exact same PC just a 1060 instead of a 2060 so i will test it on there and keep you updated!

Hi, sorry to get back so late but i couldn't get my brother to download fortnite so i decided to use an older card i have lying around to test if the crashing still happened using that card (a 750ti btw) and i am still getting the removed error, so i guess it wasn't my card after all? Do you think maybe this is a motherboard error?

Nope, I don't think so. This issue/crash doesn't seem to be directly related to the Motherboard.

i decided to use an older card i have lying around to test if the crashing still happened using that card (a 750ti btw) and i am still getting the removed error, so i guess it wasn't my card after all?

Yup, then it's NOT your GPU being faulty here, IMO. Because if the same thing happens with the GTX 750 Ti, then the issue might be somewhere else.

It matters. Yes, to isolate the issue, try playing both of these games as well, on the GTX 750 Ti.

Rust isn't crashing on the 2060 it was never as often anyway. I dont think ill even be able to catch a crash on their. and dont ARK and fortnite run on the same engine so it could just be that??
