I'm trying to install a 1050 ti graphics card into a Dell XPS tower desk top.
After installing and powering the system I get a black screen and a beeping noise from the graphics card. Any ideas

What are the specs of your pc?

Did you replace a graphics card or did the pc have integrated graphics?

Does your PSU have enough power to run that card?

Are you 100% certain that you inserted the card correctly into the top PCIE slot, that it fit snuggly & all power cables attached from card to PSU?

Have you tried removing the card & checking if the system runs normally?

I believe that the power supply is not adequate for this card as there is a 6 pin connector for the power supply unit and none coming off the power supply itself.
I believe that I bought a PCI unit instead of a PCI-E

You wouldn't be able to fit a PCIE card into a PCI slot.

Components can only get so much wattage from a PCIE slot and GPUs are ideally designed to draw 75W from the PCIE slot. If your GPU requires more power than that, you need the supplementary connectors; the connections are not optional.

Thanks so much for your answer!! It was greatly appreciated.

New question... Can I upgrade my power supply on this unit?
