Some interesting info on the composition of the Graphics market at Xbit Labs.
The funniest segment:
NVIDIA leads the DirectX 9.0 value segment with 72% of the market
WHAT? Nvidia has a DX9 part? Which one!
All those MX buyers have become FX5200non-ultra buyers.
Overall numbers Intel still rules the roost with 35% market share, but the interesting thing is that ATI is closing the Gap with nVidia 22% v 25% share.
Non-integrated VPUs (cards, mobile, etc) Nv has more 53% vs ATI's 40%
Stand alone cards of all classes: Nvidia 62% vs 32% for ATI.
Intel dominates the Integrated market in the desktop and mobile market.
Mobile standalone ATI dominate with 71% of the market, nV feel from 28% to 21%
For most of us here, this shouldn't be surprising:
NVIDIA also tripled its sales of the Performance Direct X 9.0 GPUs and grabbed 32% of the market. ATI was flat in terms of units and its share felt to 68%. In overall, it means that ATI Technologies still sells loads more high-performance DirectX 9.0 parts than the rival.
