I have been reading the forums and I see this question gets asked a lot, so I apologize for the repeat. However, after reading about 20 different threads, none of the questions or answered related to my particular issue, so I am hoping someone can help. I am attempting to upgrade from my integrated graphics card to a radeon R7 370 PCIE.
Basically, inserted the graphics card and realized I needed to upgrade my power supply. I am now running an insignia 520. After installing that, the new graphics card powers up. I plugged the monitors in and got nothing. I hear the computer boot up and do it's thing like normal, but no display.
I unplugged the power supply to the graphics card and changed the monitor back to the integrated and I'm able to get on like I used to. This is all fine and good for writing in the forums, but doesn't really do anything for my new card. When I go to device manager, the new card doesn't show up. I was told that the power supply must be plugged into the new graphics card in order for device manager to see it...which makes sense...but if I plug the power in, I get no display.
I went into the bios and there is zero option for graphics card anything. seriously...I have spent 3 hours in there. Everyone wants to charge me 200 dollars for something that I have done a few times and I feel should have a pretty simple solution...it just evades me. Below are my specs. I thank everyone for taking their time to help.
Cheers,
James
