Graphics card not booting on motherboard

Hello, i recently bought a new graphics card (Radeon RX 560 2 GB)
Whenever i try to boot my computer, it quickly shows the screen which shows the shortcuts for accessing BIOS etc and then there is a white blinking dash on a black screen, then the computer restarts and keeps doing this until i turn the pc off. My motherboard is gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2p (rev 5.1). I've tried updating the BIOS, but that didn't change anything. I have a feeling that the graphics card is somehow broken, but i'd like to hear someone else's opinion.

First of all, when posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:

How old is your PSU? Which version of the BIOS are you on?

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2P (rev 5.1)
Ram: 8gb
Storage: 111GB KINGSTON SV300S37A120G ATA Device (SATA-2 (SSD))
465GB Western Digital WDC WD5000AAKX-60U6AA0 ATA Device (SATA )
PSU: 500W bought it some time in spring this year
Chassis: No idea, is it really important?
OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit
BIOS: I was on F3 and updated to F4b.
The PC works with my old Radeon HD 6670, but doesn't with the Radeon RX 560

Radeon RX 560 2 GB System Requirements:
400 Watt Power Supply (Suggestion)
1 x 6-pin AUX Power Connector

Use of no-name generic power supplies is not recommended. They often overweight the wattage on the +3.3v and +5v lines and leave the +12v line very low. Check the label on the power supply to see what the amperage rating on the +12v is.
