I built a custom rig. Here are the specs :
Intel i3-6100 Skylake
Gigabyte GA-H170M-DS3H Motherboard
Kingston HyperX Fury 8 GB RAM
Zotac Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti OC Edition
Corsair VS650 PSU

I have been using this rig for about 8 months now. Worked perfectly. Now the graphic card fails to boot up.

Everything else works perfectly. The PC powers on, the fans etc. Only the Monitor doesn't turn on. The GPU fans don't spin at all. Only when i switch to internal graphics, the monitor turns on.

Here is what tried :
1) Uninstalled and Reinstalled graphic drivers.
2) Reset the BIOS (Removing and Reinstalling the CMOS).
3) Put the card in another PCIe Slot (Original slot was PCIe x16, the second one was PCIe x4).

PSU is 650W. Total wattage of the rig comes to aroun 400W. From what i know this must be sufficient. Funny thing is that the card works only once a day. After that, it doesn't work and i am forced to using internal gfx. Though when it does happen to load, it works perfectly no issues...

This is my first post so please inform me and pardon me if i broke any rules :)

Thanks for detailed answers. Now, it looks like power issue - except as far as I see the card does not use external power form PSU, so that pretty much excludes PSU failure (typically when you have problems at boot it's caused by PSU not working properly when hot - but since the card has no direct power connection it's not likely to be cause here). So that leaves only GPU and motherboard as possible suspects - but in both cases it would have to be rather weird issue. Honestly, I have not heard of such problem before that matches your symptoms close enough. This will require further testing. Best approach would be to test your GPU in another machine and some other GPU in yours. Without that determining which part fails is impossible. One...
This is interesting. I'll have to ask many questions here, the more precise the answers the better chance of solving problem.
So GPU works fine if it starts - for how long? If you leave it, will it work for indefinite amount of time? Or will it crash at one point, causing/forcing reboot?
When it fails to boot, do you have to remove it to use integrated graphics, or not? If not, does the GPU appear in Device Manager?
It works once a day - counting only cold boots, or rebooting/putting machine to sleep causes the problem too? Once it fails to boot, removing the card and installing it back does not help? If it does not, how long you have to keep the machine turned off before it will work again?
How old is PSU?

Thanks a ton for replying back :)
I'll answer yr questions this way..

Q: So GPU works fine if it starts - for how long? If you leave it, will it work for indefinite amount of time? Or will it crash at one point, causing/forcing reboot?
A: Though i have not measured the exact time, it works fine for a long time. I was able to play Battlefield 1 once, for 2+ hours straight, no crash, no forced reboot, no screen flickers or anything. So yes i think it will indefinitely...

Q: When it fails to boot, do you have to remove it to use integrated graphics, or not? If not, does the GPU appear in Device Manager?
A: No, i dont have to remove the card. I just remove the hdmi cable from the graphic card and plug it to the hdmi slot on motherboard to use internal gfx. No, the GPU doesn't appear in Device Manager.

Q: It works once a day - counting only cold boots, or rebooting/putting machine to sleep causes the problem too?
A: Yes rebooting /putting the machine to sleep also causes the problem.

Q: Once it fails to boot, removing the card and installing it back does not help? If it does not, how long you have to keep the machine turned off before it will work again?
A: Nope, removing and installing back doesn't help. As for how long i have to keep it off, initially i had to wait for almost a day. Now it happens randomly... But not less than a day i suppose...

Q: How old is PSU?
A: The PSU is same age as the graphic card, so are all the others parts of the rig i.e. Around 8 months.

One hint here: once you get GPU working, keep the machine up for 10 minutes only (desktop, no gaming) and shut it down, and see if it will disappear again even after such short run - that will help in above tests IF you can reproduce problem in such short time.
