Graphics Card Not Detected (R9 280X)

Recently, I've purchased the AMD R9 280x Dual-X by Sapphire, along with a CX 750w by Corsair, and a Rosewill Blackhawk (Blue Edition) Case. I moved all my components to my new case, powered by the CX750. Now, when I plug the card in the PCI x16 slot and plug in the power connectors, no picture. But the fans are still running

I tried restarting the computer. I tried unplugging the power connectors and installing the drivers, then plugging it in again. Nope. I tried using an HDMI on the card's slots. Nothing. I disabled the Intel HD 4000 on-board graphics. Nothing.

So, if anyone can tell me what's possibly going on and provide solid solutions, I'd be over the moon!

Also, I'm going to ask a couple of questions -

Do I use the 4-pin-to-8-pin plugs I got in the card's package, or the power supply's 8-pins PCIs?
Do I need to use the motherboard's or the GPU's graphical inputs?
If I need to use the GPU, can I use a VGA-to-DVI adapter to get the video?
If disabling the HD 4000 doesn't work, can I do something else?

Answers for questions:

Use the power supply's 8-pins if it has it.
Use the GPU's outputs.
If you have no VGA, a VGA-DVI adapter should work fine.
Check in your BIOS, that's usually where you set whether or not to use onboard or discrete graphics.

So far I only see these possibilities:

1) Graphics card is defective (try on a different PC if possible).

2) Motherboard is defective:
a) try a different x16 slot on the same board if possible
b) try a different card on your motherboard if possible

3) Power supply is defective:
Try a different power supply

4) *Monitor set to incorrect input:
Access the monitor physically, and make sure you have the right input (DVI, HDMI..)

5) Motherboard BIOS issue:
update the motherboard BIOS to latest

The 280x has both 8 and 6 pin plugs. The plug ins the box is a splitter to make more plugs not to make less. You need to fill all plugs on the card. Usually I have needed either VGA or HDMI to get my frist picture from a video card. This is usually because I setup the bios after I put the card in so I need a display. You could try to set up the bios before and than most any adapter should work. Yet, when working with a bios HDMI is most direct. Disabling the 4000 isn't the problem. Finding the setting to enable the the graphics card and whatever jargon they give to that function is the problem. It should easily be found in your bios options for video. I doubt it will hurt to guess.
