Graphics card only running on PCIe x16. 2.0

Hey guys,

I have an Asus Z97-K INTEL Z97 (SOCKET 1150) DDR3 ATX MOTHERBOARD, with a EVGA gtx 1060 SC.

I checked GPU Z and it appears the card is only running on PCIe x16 2.0 rather than x16 3.0

I ran the render test and this still does not change. I also went into bios and there is no option to force gen 3, just auto, gen 1 and gen 2.

Does my hardware support PCIe x16 3.0 or am I doing something wrong?

Also sometimes GPU Z says my card is running at PCIe x16 1.1 Why is this?

Most likely just a bug but I don't think 2.0x16 would harm performance on a 1060 at all either way as it can't fully populate 16 2.0 lanes

I thought it might be a bug with GPU Z but it is also not appearing in the BIOS. Is there anything I can try to fix it?

maybe you overclocked your pci express, it will donwlock to pcie 2.0 if u did

Everything is running well above average, carry on. If it is actually at 2.0 it's not bottlnecking you in anyway

I reset my BIOS to default settings and it is now showing as PCIe 3.0.

However, my userbenchmark results have decreased.
