Hey Guys

Intro
So as you know Black Friday and Cyber Monday is on the way ! My question is what do i get first ?

I tend to game a bit not EXTREME but quite a bit and i also render quite a bit too !

What do I get ?
A new CPU or a new GPU (Graphics card)- (look below to view my specs)
The first component I buy I can spend more money on but the second I wont be able to spend as much on. I have about around the £100-£110 possibly £120 mark on my first item.
The second item will be around £50-£60-£70 mark.

I was thinking of buying the GPU first because they seem to the most expensive compare to the processor.

Component Suggestions would be great !
Thanks Drew :D

Specs:
Motherboad-ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
Processor-AMD Athlon ii x4 640 3.0GHz
RAM-Corsair 8GB XMS3 DDR3
GPU- Radeon HD 6670 2GB DDR3

Solution
your cpu will bottleneck any current gen gpu and 6670 will not benefit much from cpu upgrade. i would change both cpu and gpu. a FX vishera with something like gtx750ti will do just fine and most probably you wont be needing a psu upgrade also, so what is it?

Thanks for the quick reply, I will be changing both , I'm currently running an AMD athlon ii X4 640 3.0Ghz but hoping to change to AMD FX6300 Black Edition 6 Core (3.5 GHz -4.1GHz turbo clocked, do you think this will be a decent upgrade ?

I am also going to upgrade my GPU and hoping to get a 2GB GDDR5 Graphics card but don't know what to get. DO you have any ideas ?

You usually get more longevity out of a CPU and the most drastic improvements from a new GPU. When I look to upgrade I use a 2/4 rule - every two years (if not sooner) I replace the GPU and every four years (absent a huge leap in technology) I upgrade the CPU/Mobo.

WOW thanks i'm currently running a 750W PSU but it only has 1 PCI power connector on it :(

What do you think i should buy first the GPU or CPU ? i was thinking of buying the GPU first ? because i have more money to spend first :D Then the CPU a few weeks later ?

I think you should replace the GPU first. I remember upgrading from a 650 to a 660ti on one of the first generation FX series cpu's (pretty bad single threaded performance) but I still got a MASSIVE improvement in terms of FPS and consistency. So yeah I'd go with the GPU first then the CPU, but I guess it depends on the games you want to play also since some use the CPU more than others.
