Graphics card output given to CRT TV

Hi,

I was wondering what kind of picture quality (gaming as well as movies) one would get after connecting 29" CRT TV to a computer (using cards with S-Video output available such as 4770, 4850 etc.) via a S-Video to RCA composite converter.
1. Can I get higher resolutions?
2. Up to what limit?
3. Will it be better than that on 17" CRT monitor? (I mean smooth output without big blocks or choppy images)

Standard definition televisions are 640x480 which is much lower than even a 17" monitor. 640 x 480 = 307,200 pixels while 1024 x 768 = 786,432 pixels.

so now I will drop Idea of buying ATI 4xxx graphics series card just for S-video output and go for 5xxx or 6xxx (rumored to be launched soon) card instead.

What card do you have now? It can likely handle outputting to a television already.
