Graphics card overheating

Hi im running geforce 9500 GT.

It's worked well for me for a long time, until i installed a new driver.

Than i noticed some problems:

On WoW ive been having low fps problems occasionally, i learned it was due to my card overheating.
with 105 C being the temp max on the nvidia.com spec sheet, i found that during one of those fps spikes my card was 111 C.

It wven caused problems with lag with older games like warcraft III
i checked temp and it was about the spec sheet max.

Is my best bet so that i wont realy have to worry about overheating or about fps problems from different sorces to just buy a better card?

get rivatuner and adjust it so that is will be at 50c
might need to set it past 50% speed fan
solve the problem for me with my ati radeon hd 4870 1 gig gdr5 was always at 85c-90c, with rivatuner got it down to 35-45c idle and 50-55c under load

EVGA Precision is another good one.
Some times the new drivers reset the fan speed so you need to go in and turn it up again.

Yea what they said. And if you have the time, buy some thermal compound and clean and reapply it to the heatsink
