Current GPUs don't even use all the available PCIe 3.0 bandwidth.
NVMe SSDs can benefit from PCIe 4.0 but it doesn't really make a difference in normal, everyday computing, only synthetic benchmarks.

Well that's good to know, didn't even know PCIe 4.0 was a thing until after I ordered the card and I was like did I make a booboo?

Thanks for the help

Gen 4 PCIe is more for future capability. Nothing released currently will be harmed by using it on PCIe 3.0 instead of 4.0, except for the fastest of NVMe SSDs, and that difference is still very minimal. That being said, the difference is also purely bandwidth. You could use a PCIe Gen 4 card with PCIe Gen 2 motherboard, and it will work, just at a possibly limited speed.
