Graphics card power issue

If my pcie slot on my mobo does not provide power for a certain graphics card. Would it work if I connect a 6pin?

It might, that depends. If your motherboard puts out 30W and the card requires less than 105W it might work. That's because the 6 pin will supply 75W and the motherboard will supply 30W giving your card up to 105W of power.
