I have a Raidmax Hybrid 2 730ss power supply, which has 2 8 pin PCIe connectors connected to a single wire, and i was wondering if i could use that to power a new MSI GTX 1070 Gaming graphics card when it comes out. I saw that it has a 8pin and a 6 pin connector, so could i use the one PCIe cable, or do i have to buy a new power supply / use a molex connector for the other 6 pin?

Solution
Raidmax PSUs are garbage and I highly recommend replacing it asap with a decent unit, especially if you want a high end card. A raidmax PSU is a danger to your system and your house.

I wouldn't say that it's garbage, saying that its been a year since i got it and its never shown any sign of problems or issues with heating or power distribution. I was just asking if powering the graphics card with the 6 pin that connects to a molex, as well as the 8 pin pcie cable that came with the power supply would work. I currently don't want to bother upgrading to an expensive power supply, and was just wondering if a molex would work.

I will start looking into a better power supply, though. as it would probably be a good thing to start doing.
