Graphics card problem

Hello,i've a problem regarding graphics card; it doesn't work properly after restart, consequently no image is displayed on the LCD while the keyboard does work, so the 256MB hp RAM is well my video card is NVIDIA RIVA TNT@Model64/Model64Pro, so I turned off its fan connection and it started working, I want to diagnose the problem and fix it. please if someone can help me
