Graphics Card Question..

In short, the PCI-finger IS damaged and would not install on/in my system as is... Whether it works or not is questionable; BSOD, black screens etc. may occur and MAY cause other issues to your motherboard.

Just my opinion.

What if it installed on the motherboard..?

you have my reply.

The 5450 is barely better then your 210. Save a few bucks and get a real gpu. you can get a r7-250x for under $80 these days and that is a little more then 50x better a gpu then either the 5450 or 210.

and you asked clearly if the 5450 would work with a broken/chipped pci-finger, chances are "no" it won't work. Even if the pci-finger wasn't chipped I wouldn't be willing to tell you an 7yo gpu would work in your system. Video cards do not get "healthier" with age. If your card can last 4 years of use it's doing good, a 7yo card probably has a lot of mileage on it, so even if the pci-finger wasn't chipped my answer would be the same; chances are the card doesn't work.

Before you go any further I would strongly suggest you spend ~12 min of your time to watch this video:

The types of discrete GPUs you seem to be interested in (GeForce 210, HD 5450) are typically not worth it for gaming even when they're new, and there are likely a myriad of better options available for your particular situation. These include but are not limited to integrated solutions, used cards, or saving up for a slightly more expensive but far higher performance new card.

As for your question, if you're asking whether that damage in itself would kill the card, then no, it's probably fine. Due to the way PCIe works, even if a set of pins towards the right end of the connector were damaged or removed entirely the card should still function, it would just default to the next lower speed, in this case 8x PCIe 2.0, which would not be a problem for this card even if it were the case. But the pins don't look damaged to begin with, so I don't think there's much to be worried about.
