Graphics card randomly crashes

Hey guys,

I built my computer this past Christmas and everything runs smoothly except when I play games such as League of Legends, Path of Exile, or any steam game. After playing a game of League of Legends it'll return to the games homepage, and if I go to open Google chrome or anything, my monitor will either go black and say out of range or go a random color and my audio goes crazy. I have to completely shut down my computer and when I turn it back on I am required to either boot it normally or go into system repair. Once I get back to my desktop if I go to open a program too quickly it'll crash again. I changed from dvi to displayport thinking there was something wrong with my cord, but that didn't help. I've updated and rolled back all my drivers for my graphics card and monitor, and that didn't help either. I've re-installed windows thinking a file was corrupt, and once again that didn't help. I have also stress tested both my graphics card and mother board thinking those were just bad, but both passed with no problem. I have also taken out my graphics card and put it back in making sure it was in all the way. My power supply is more than sufficient so that shouldn't cause any disruptions, and nothing is over heating. I am baffled by what is going on and need any suggestions. I posted about this before as the problem only occurred while I was playing and got a fix for my in-game crashes, but now its right after. The last thing for me to do is buy a new graphics card, so I am welcome to all suggestions to help me solve this before i have to spend any money.

Thank you for your time

Solution
i had the same issues before ,and i solved it out by changing most game setting as "fps setting" ,for example counterstrike global offensive "fps_max 300" is the default , changed it to "fps_max 150" which is half you won't notice any difference but this will solve the problem regarding "when you close a game and open firefox/google chrome and you notice your PC screen goes black/random color" , keep in mind when you close a game as i noticed the CPU usage goes like 99% it happens with me every time so i give it like 3-5 sec to settle down then i open other programs ,its not the perfect solution but am glad ,i also have the Asus 770 GTX 2GB , and 144hz asus vg278HE , 16gb ram ,hope this helps and goodluck

This does not sound like a graphics card problem. More like there is some hardware issue with like Ram. When your ram sticks run faulty it wil randomly crash becauser the memory chips are dying.

There are several fixes you can try to see if your ram is dying. Run memtest86+ that program will test if your ram is having some error (if you have more than one stick, run each stick separetely). Second try increasing your pagefile size. Pagefile is a virtual memory allocation on your hard drive and swap files in and out for applications. Not enough pagefile will cause random crashes. That is why I dont recommend peope turning this off even when using SSD since its unstable.

If you've done the above and still crash then clean out junk temp files and registry using CC cleaner, remnants of old files may be the reason you are crashing. If that still gives issue then I can only think of the fact your windows is corrupting something, you have to do a reformat in that case (but i doubt its windows causing your crashes).
