I'm building a gaming PC with ryzen
I'm getting a used gtx 970 founders edition for 65$ less than a new 1060 6gb .
Any suggestions on which one to buy?

Solution
Well, 970 is almost two generation old now with 4yrs old architecture, around 10% to 15% slower than the 1060, and on top of that its the founders edition which usually runs hotter due to the blower style fans.
For me its ticking a lot of wrong boxes there for $65.

I would rather wait for the next gen which is about to launch in a few weeks maybe and grab an equivalent card.

Definitely the 1060 6GB. But the bigger question is, "Is the 1060 the right video card for you?" Newer generations of NVidia are coming out soon, and the AMD cards are every bit as good as the NVidia ones as well. I thinks it's based on your resolution, and adaptive sync which video card you go for. But between those 2 choices the 1060 for sure.
