Ok guys I am back into building a gaming PC. Currently I am piecing together a build and I am in no rush to finish it (the parts listed below were only bought when discounted heavily). The list of PC parts that I have are as follows:

ASUS Maximus VII Hero
Intel i7-4790k
NZXT Source 530 ATX Full Tower
Crucial MX100 128gb SSD
SeaSonic SS-760XP2 Platinum (760W)
G.Skill Sniper Series DDR3-1866 (2 x 4gb)

I do not have:

Graphics Card
CPU Cooling
Monitor/Keyb/Mouse

Having said all that I still have a few decisions to make. With a setup like this I plan on playing games in 1080p but I could wait for a better deal on a monitor. If I do decide to stick to 1080p gaming my question is which gpu should I stick to? As you guys can see there is room for upgrading in the future. The GTX 970 looks sufficient for 1080p games on max. I want the best for my money and I am not really on a budget but I also don't want to spend unnecessarily.

Could you guys recommend ways to finish this build?

You can try this.

EVGA fixed their GTX 970 cooler issues with the ACX 2.0, so it's a steal for $330.
I dropped your PSU back a little, still a very high quality unit.
Not sure what kind of monitor you want/what you'll be doing, so I've dropped one in as a placeholder.
Also not sure how hardcore you are about overclocking, so I added a Noctua NH-D14, which is frankly awesome.
Have upped the SSD to 256 GB and added an extra HDD

No keyboard/mouse as I find it's a personal taste thing.
