So I bought a Msi Gtx 670 2g oc in mid 2012 and it used to be able to play all of my games at max settings but now even when I go back to old games that it could run just fine they have spikes of reduced frame rates (this occurs when there are a lot of particles and physx). I only noticed this recently when I was playing Metro 2033 and my computer was struggling to keep a constant frame rate when around explosions...from a game released in 2010, yet just last year I could play bf3 ultra 64 players at about 80-120ish fps.
Just in the past few days I have been replaying mirrors edge and when ever a bunch of glass is broken my game the frame rate drops drastically, whereas it never used to do this. What could be the cause for this? Is it something to do with the drivers and/or physx? Or is it a hardware fault?
My current driver version is 331.58
