Graphics card(s) help

I have all the money saved up to buy the parts for my new gaming pc. Should I buy two 970s and sli them or buy a 980 and save up for a second one. Also which brand I am debating obver msi and the asus strix. Thanks, all help is appreciated.

980 is way better and really for the money its your better option. 970 SLI is great as well but One 980 more than enough for now.

I would go with the 980 as you'll be able to add a second in the future. And a single 980 is powerful enough in itself.

I wouldnt say the gtx 980 is "way" better. it's better but just by 20% or so?
what power supply do you have? what motherboard do you have? do you have a multi screen setup or??
give some more info about what it is for.

I have an asus maximus vi extreme I will pick a power supply when I know which graphics card setup and an Asus Rog swift monitor.

I would go with the 970`s as they can be overclocked crazy. Only way I would consider something else is if you decide to wait and grab an 8 gig 980 gtx.
