I have a GTX 750 ti that runs 3 monitors and when I utilise all three monitors it appears to crash (all screens lose connection) I recently upgraded my old underpowered cpu motherboard and ram to the below specs and that didn't appear to fix it.

I'm using a ctx 600w power supply.

Kingston savage 16gb of ddr3-2400 RAM (upgrades from 4gb)

Intel core i7-4970k quad core (old processor was an i3 something)

Asus GTX 750 TI

MSI Z97S krait edition (upgraded from a very old gigabyte)

A 1tb and a 2tb hard drive.

And 3 asus monitors that I don't know the model of.

When I tried to use all 3 monitors on my old system it would crash as well, on running gpu tweak the gpu usage rises to almost 100% before crashing and this happens whenever I use anything slightly graphics intensive.

Any help greatly appreciated

Solution

First things first, if you get any better GPU, get a 800-1000 watt psu. Also, 1080 isn't too bad if you feel like waiting until around September, but I'd recommend just getting a 980 or 980 ti for now.

Well, there appears to be a bug with your card. RMA it if you can, or try to get a refund and go for something slightly better, as a 750 TI and 3 screens is a little underpowered, especially with that i7 4790K.

Ive spoken to NVidia about this as a second opinion and they are basically saying the same thing, good news is its still in a 3 year warrenty. Any advice on an upgrade? I was thinking of going for a GTX 1080 as a future proof but that may be wasted with the rest of my sysytem.

750ti to 1080? sounds like a pretty nice upgrade....! obviously if you get a 1080 you will be future proofed and will be able to play whichever game you like at high frame rates. the 1070 looks like it will also fill this role. if you plan on getting 4k monitor(s) then it might be worth waiting for the tech review websites to get hold of the new cards and run benchmarks on games you like, so you can see if there is a difference.

if you're not a gamer, you can really buy anything above the 970 and it's doubtful you'll see a difference in performance.
