I have an AMD 6300 FX and 8g ram and wondering on where to go in terms of graphics card, trying to avoid bottlenecking as much as possible any suggestions

Nah... R9 285 is cheaper, and only very little behind, but it's cheaper and got a little bit of tricks. But then you'd need to overclock to decent clock speed.

I have bought a Sapphire Vapor-X R9 280X OC edition, it costs a little more than 270X but it is a supreme card. Blazing performance, amazing FPS, almost no noise - Go for it mate!
