Graphics card swap?

Solution
Unless you are taking about the 1080ti version then yes. Only a few fps. Most benchmarks shows a 10-15fps difference between both cards and the improvement is something like 20-30% more with 1080.

For 1080p gaming. It's blah. The 1080 really shines in 1080p with high herts like 144 or 4k etc... that is the weakness of the 1070 basically.

Hi I'm running an i7 7700k on a asus maximus viii hero alpha with the asus rog strix 1070 samsung 250gb m.2 250gb samsung 250gb ssd and 3tb hdd at 1080 res. It's for games and video editing was thinking of getting better monitors. Just not sure as this swap has come my way. It's a gigabyte turbo oc with after market cooler it's an artic accelero extreme iv. So is it worth the swap?

Really depends on if you are currently unhappy with your FPS in gaming or not. I have an MSI 1070 stock OCed to 2000mhz and have no issues playing on 1080p.

If you play on going with a higher resolution or higher refresh rate monitors. Then maybe it will be worth it for a couple extra FPS. But if you are happy with your FPS as it is now (say around 60+ while gaming). Then I see no reason to really swap out for 1080.

Is that the only gain a few FPS? Lol
I've not had any problems with any games and since I've just upgraded from the i5 6600k to the i7 7700k video editing has been much smoother. Guess I'm staying with my Asus Strix then. Think I just need to sort out my motherboard and upgrade to a z270.
Thanks for your help pal
