Hi everyone,

I have had this problem for a while now. When i play any game on my laptop witch has a nvidia 310m and i check because i noticed very low fps and so i check and the laptop was running at 405MHz when it supposed to be running at 1774MHz??? I used to be able to run garrys mod on all high with 50-60 fps at all times now i cant even run it on lowest with more then 20!!!! i have up to date drivers and nothing seems to be working and i just bought a couple of games that i cant play because my laptop "cant run it" so if some one can please help me i will really be thankfull. :D

For speed fan look for a number under the fire, that will be the current temp in degrees C. Open Nvidia control panel and make sure that under manage 3d settings the selector is on high performance nvidia processor.

Chances are the card is overheating, and downclocking as a safety feature. This is more common in laptops where the small package doesn't allow enough airflow. Download a program like speedfan and check what the temperature is when you're trying to play the games. If it is up in the 80 or 90 range you have a problem.

i think overheating was an issue i got speed fan and my temps were showing like a fire think witch i think means its to hot and idk how to maybe lower it but i did lower back my overclock settings to defult where i ran every game fine
