Hello everyone, here are my specs:
Motherboard: GA-PA65-UD3-B3 MOTHER BOARD
RAM: 2 x 4gb 1333hz
Processor: i7-3770
Graphics card: geforce gtx 750 ti 2gb (60W consumption)
HDD: 1tb 7200
SSD: 240 gb ssd
Power supply: 430W ATX-Netzteil ST-430
I've recently got a new monitor which has a displayport (i cant use hdmi for refresh rate reasons) and my current graphics card doesnt.
I want to buy a decent graphics card like rx 580 (but this card's consumtion is 300something watts and requires a 8pin connector, and my powersupply has a 6pin).
Should I use a 6pin-8pin adapter?
Does my powersupply support this grahpics card?
Should I get a graphics card that consumes less and has a 6pin connenctor?

Solution
I wouldn't use the adapter...as the PSU isn't designed to supply an 8 pin jack.
Also, adapters can cause problems.
I would either buy a proper PSU to go with the GPU or get a CPU that will work with your PSU....but I don't much care for that second option as your PSU is weak.
