Hello everybody

Im wanting to upgrade the gpu in my current system, as im experiencing low performance with it, due to the gpu

My system is

Fx 6300 stock (Don't tell me to get an i5, waiting for the next generation, and upgrading the whole system when ddr4 etc is out)

16gb ddr3 1333mhz ram

Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 mother board

1tb sata 2 drive

XFX 450W PSU

Geforce 450 (1gb)

I just need to know if a radeon 280x would have any issues bottlenecking, or power issues, im just wanting my system to perform well

http://www.cclonline.com/product/55411/P1-450S-XXB9/Pow... this psu

and money isnt an issue so i will be keeping the ram, i do a lot of music rendering and video rendering, and gather the ram is good to have

and i was thinking of overclocking, but id surely need a stronger psu, and a better motherboard right?

Your MB seems fine. Grab a decent cooler and you should be on your way to 5 GHz.

PSU upgrade, here's what I suggest for single card upgrade (assuming you live in the UK)

Or this for future crossfire.

Cooler like h100i or NH D14/15

And a 290 instead of a 280X

Thanks for the reply

My motherboard surely cannot do for overclocking, never mind 5ghz xD it cost me thirty pounds new

And everywhere I've been everyone has said not to buy a 290x with te fx6300 as it'll bottleneck like hell, Apparantly so will the 280x

I'm thinking of putting some money together and just building anew besides from the case hdd and optical drive xD

I'm wanting to build an i5 rig on 600 pounds ... Can someone on here price me one up that's going to last and not future proof, but last me and give me y money's worth

I will either use the fx 6300 parts in a small media/xbox pad gaming in te living room or flog them cheap somewhere

But yeah an intel build that will kick my amds ass for 600 700 if needed but try keeping the price low

I could use my ram but it's 1333mhz if that'll still do the. I'll keep it, of a faster rAm stick is that beneficial then I'll consider 1600mhz and up

Thanks guys

Please note , British shops only!

I'd love a microcenter over here
