Hi. I'm a newbie to the tech world. excuse any silly questions or comments

One of my desktop graphics card is not working and i'm planning to upgrade the graphics card alone. My specs are

Intel core 2 quad Q8300 processor
4GB RAM (2+2) DDR2
Intel DG41TY motherboard
Power supply - 450w smps
PCI express x 16 connector - (1.1)

I was using NVDIA 9400GT (msi ) graphics card.

Any suggestion on a new 1GB or 2 GB graphics card. I heard the new graphics cards are PCI express 2.0. so pls suggest a card which is also compatible with PCI 1.1, because i dont wanna invest money in motherboard.

I not a hard core gamer. I just play ( games like COD mordern warfare 3 ) 6 or 7 hrs per week and i use photoshop cs5 a lot for design purpose.

thank u, but i prefer NVIDIA. also planning to buy it online. any suggestion.

thanks in advance.

I said you could get the 650, but it is a rip compared to the 7750 and 7770. Just know that you are spending more for no reason if that's what you choose. Although you came here looking for help and wanting to spend $100 on a gpu. There are only 2 gaming gpu's that cost $100 that are currently on the market. If you are only willing to get a nvidia card, there was no point in coming here because you only have one option.

I would wait for the 650ti to drop in price if it ever does, cheapest I've seen is $110

It will if AMD decides to launch the rumoured 768 shader GPU
