HI, I'm looking to upgrade my current GTX 460 for Christmas. My budget is roughly under $180. I am considering to get the 1050ti, put I have someone offering me a GTX 760 2gb for $125. Should I go with the 760, or the 1050ti?

Current PC specs: i7-4790k - ASUS Sabertooth Z97 Mk.2 - 4GB DDR3 RAM (Yes, I know, but it's fine for what I play.) - ASUS GTX 460 Direct Cuii - Coolermaster GX 750w. Thanks!

I would do some serious searching on Black Friday to see if you can come up with a GTX 1060 for around $180, if you can, get it. Otherwise I would try to get the 1050ti in the fastest clockspeed that you can afford.

Hi,

The 1050ti is away better than the 760, but and as you know and mentioned if 4gb ram is more than enough then I don't see any point of having a good GPU. Having a good GPU does not mean that your gaming experience might improve alot.

For Example I had an old GPU and was able to play Overwatch between low-medium settings. So I think upgrading the GPU would be enough but sadly yes I got a small improvement that I am playing now medium-high settings.

So maybe get 760 and another 4gb ram, might be better.

An extra 4GB of RAM will only help you if your PC has a 64-bit version of Windows, otherwise it's a complete waste.

By now, most stores & sites should already be advertising what their Black Friday deals are going to be. So if you can find a GTX 1060 or RX 480 for $180 USD or less, then go for those, as they are the best choices for 1080p gaming. Otherwise, go for the GTX 1050Ti or RX 470.
