My pc specs real quick
Geforce GTX 9800 GT
6gb RAM
AMD athalon II X2 250 processor 3.0Ghz
64bit windows 7

So a while back i was using a GeForce 8800 for pretty much strictly World of Warcraft, then i started having this problem where my monitor would go to sleep and sound on my headset would cut out, nothing i could do would get it to start displaying again. So i crashed my pc and booted it back up again, about every thirty minutes i had this same issue so i figured that my graphics card must have just been bad. So then i acquired my GTX 9800 GT from a friend and the problem stopped for about two months, now this past week it has been happening more and more frequently, everything will crash and the only way to get it back on is to hard reset my pc.

I have deduced it is not a temperature issue
It seems to last longer in game if i remove the graphics card, and put it back in.
I have updated drivers and rolled back drivers a thousand times and it hasn't helped.
Sometimes it crashes after 20 seconds sometimes it lasts three hours.

Is it just that i need a new graphics card, because i know that both of these cards are pretty outdated but the GeForce 8800 is actually the exact graphics card recommended for minimum settings on wow. I am prepared to buy a new card i just want to make sure that this is actually the issue before i blow big money on an upgrade that might not even work.

I have also deduced that it might be my RAM, i have one 4gb stick and one 2gb stick, i have tried to take one out and use only one for both RAM sticks but that only made it crash faster.

please help, im not the brightest when it comes to PC's but i know a bit from my experience trying to fix all my problems, anything will help.
