Graphics distortion during gameplay

Having issues with my graphics while playing games. The problem is that after a couple of minutes, depending on the game, certain things happen that cause the game to become unplayable and lock up sometimes. I have to restart the game. For example:

-When I play SWTOR the entire screen becomes fragmented and artifacts appear all over. The graphics become chopped. There will be a piece of the screen here, and there, on a black background. I can HEAR the game going on just fine but I cannot SEE it clearly. I have to restarted the game. Once restarted it is fine for a few secs, or a few minutes, and then starts again.
-When I play WOT I experience random 1 sec hangups that happen maybe 1-3 times. Then after a couple of minutes of having the game open. I dont even have to be actually playing the game just sitting in the garage the game will lock up, sometimes the screen goes black. But its JUST the game. I have to close the game down and restart it. Once this occurs it continues to happen until I give it a few minutes. Then I can get a few battles complete before it happens again.

BACKGROUND:
I bought a new motherboard and processor. I keep my games on a separate HDD from my OS. I installed the motherboard and processor. The install did not go well as it was a completely different MB and CPU. Long story short I had to reinstall windows. Had TWO 660 GTXs in SLI but found out that was crashing my system. Removed one of the cards and the system was working fine until the above issue started happening. My system would crash randomly with the two 660s in SLI even while IDLE. However now just games are locking up and having to be restarted after a couple of minutes of play. I can do anything else on my pc and it runs just fine. I DID NOT reinstall the games on my gaming drive. I did try repair installing some of them but that seems to not have worked.

ATTEMPTED SOLUTIONS:
1-I reverted back to previous Nvidia drivers WITH a CLEAN install. Currently running 347.52 version. That SEEMED to work for a little bit but back to the same issue. I recently upgraded to the most recent Nvidia Drivers yet to no avail.
2-Ran HWMonitor while I played games thinking it was GPU temp. The temp got to about 81degrees at its height. It seemed to drop some before the lock up and graphics issue. Does not seem to be a heat issue then?
3-Ran DirectX Diag. No problems were reported.
4-Attempted repair install of some games yet did not work.

QUESTIONS:
1-I have my games set to max settings now. Could my new processor and motherboard be bottlenecking my GPU? In terms of processing the information faster than the GPU? I had changed WoT's settings to high to test that but still had the lock up issue.
2-Is the fact that I haven't reinstalled my games causing this issue due to registry problems?
3-Could this be a lingering issue connected to the fact that my two 660 GTXs in SLi were crashing my pc?
4-Do I need to upgrade to a stronger GPU to match my motherboard and processor with the graphics settings I have currently?

Current setup: NON-OVERCLOCKED
CPU - Intel Devil's Canyon
MB - MSI Z97 Gaming 7
GPU - EVGA 660 GTX
PSU - 1000W Gaming PSU

If any other info is needed please let me know! Thank you for any suggestions.

Any help is appreciated!

ok so heres what i got for you bud. Your card seems to be running in normal temps but you said that you had 2 of these in SLI once? So maybe the reason they were not working in SLI was because that one of them wasnt working correctly so id recommend switching the 2 cards, put the one you took out back in. See if that works alone by itself and if it does then it would be a problem with the card currently installed. Also try switching the card to another PCI-E port. Let me know if this helps.
I'm using:
Monitors - Main: Acer G236HL
Secondary: Samsung SMB 2230
Wins 7, 64 bit
RAM - I HAD 12 gigs of RAM but took out a stick for two reasons: 1 - I dropped my video card on one of my RAM sticks and thought that MAYBE the damaged heatsick (just a small dent) was causing the problems I'm experiencing. Also my MB was not running dual channel because I had 3 sticks. Now I have 8 Gigs of ram in (2 sticks) in Dual Channel Mode. I'm using: Corsair Vengeance 3M3A1600C9

Also I was just playing WoT and while in a match my game lagged up my screens went black on both monitors, the monitors reset and the displays for both basically reset. When my main monitor came back up it said I was still in WoT but couldn't see anything but the desktop and couldn't hear any sound. Had to close down the game and restart it. Not sure if that helps.

Ok so I've been testing things out. I switched the video card and put the other 660 in the main PCI-E slot I was using. So far no graphics glitches! So strange because I thought I had done that earlier but who knows! If it comes back up I'll repost but so far it SEEMS to be running games stable. Knock on wood! Thank you :)

Np man 😀
