Graphics Drivers make my computer go crazy

So whenever I install a graphics driver onto my computer, things go wonky. Either it will restart constantly until I go into safemode and uninstall it, or the screen will appear like this.

I run windows 7 ultimate 64 bit system
Intel Core i3 3220 @ 3.30GH CPU
6.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3
Motherboard is a Alienware 06G6JW (CPU 1)
The Graphics Card I think is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 645 OEM

I'm not savi in this stuff so I need alot of help.

What do you use to update the drivers do you use Nvidia GeForce experience or windows hardware manager? If using Geforce Experience are you doing a clean installation or just express installation?

I've done Geforce experience and yes I've done clean installation and express, neither change the result.

How out of date are the drivers? You may not even need to upgrade. A lot of the updated drivers add support and optimizations for various games and no real benefit if you're not using the features. I'd say as long as the drivers you're currently using are working well and you're not having issues with anything other than updating the driver I'd let it be. It could also be a bad driver which happens.
