graphics error in games

Recently my GPU has begun to do this (picture related) in games.

I chose to show pcsx2 because it shows it at its worst but it does show up in MGS:V, thief, fallout 4 and very slightly in world of warships but dying light and besiege don't do this.
I have reinstalled drivers and tried older ones, tried checking vram and benchmarking my gpu, no errors.

my system
m4a87td evo motherboard
amd phenom II x6 1055t @3.5ghz (tried stock speeds)
amd asus R9 290 4gb
8gb ddr3 1333mhz
+ all the rest junk

Does enyone know how to get rid of this error/bug?

it appears to be a defective graphics card.

Try downclocking the GPU and VRAM to see if that helps. Start with 90% of current, or go back to default if overclocked.

(You have a CPU bottleneck anyway, so downclocking the GPU and VRAM likely won't affect gaming performance in most games)

tried multiple steps of downclocking all the way to -40% Same problems.
Time to look for a new gpu, this came at a really bad time because i just bought 1440p screen and new gpu release dates are too far away
