hello, why the total graphics memory in win 10 more than win 8.1

in win10 8192mb
in win 8.1 3968mb

i have intel hd graphics 530 and 16gb ram.

Solution
The Intel iGPU uses shared memory with the system RAM. As such, it doesn’t have any dedicated VRAM on *die. However, the allocation is dependent on the video driver and total system memory.

That all said, it’s possible the 8GB allocation is an erroneous reporting.

* Edit: Some Intel CPUs can have up to 128MB of eDRAM on die, but mainly use frame buffering, not holding textures.
The VRAM amount should be identical so not clear what's going on.

Also, you can't apply that much to an iGPU so that's reported for the graphics card so not clear why you mention the HD530.

If you have 8GB of VRAM then you must have a high-end graphics card like an RX-580 8GB or GTX1080.
