Hey guys! I'm a total empty-head about Graphics and etc... But would Installing High-End Graphics card to your system mean requiring Bigger and better RAM hardwares?

Because I'm planning to buy a GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7770 ghz Edition OC 2gb ddr5 graphics card. But I think my RAM is quite low too and I'm afraid it might affect my games' performance (Dota2 and online browser-based games ... to be exact).

I'm wondering if I'd be needing to buy better RAM hardware too. :)

Thanks in Advance :)

Theoretically, you can install high end GPU along with very low RAM depending on the OS. It doesn't contradict anything.

But logically, if you install a high end GPU(say R9 290x 4GB DDR5) along with 1 or 2GB RAM, it would be foolish as most games and bigger softwares won't be able to run smoothly.

In your case, you should keep at least 3 GB ram, as the OS will take up about 1GB and you'll have enough memory for extracurricular activities.

There is no definite ratio. If want to take a reference, just take a look at any high end game's system requirements!

bro... here's my pc specs....

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU @ 2.00 GHz (2CPUs)
Memory: 990 RAM
DX Version 9.0c

Display
Device: VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP
Approx. Total Memory: 32.0 MB

I'm wondering what's best to upgrade with a budget of $180. By the way... I'm not planning to play High End games... All i'm trying to get on my PC is Dota2 and play some Browser based games :)

hmmm... yeah it sucks bro.... do u think a Radeon 7770 would be so much better than it?
