I am trying to figure out why my computer is under performing, and if I can do anything about it other than upgrade into a new machine. Last summer I upgraded from a GTX 660 to a GTX 1070 8GB. I will list a few of the problems below but my main concern that it just isn't performing up to par with what a avg GTX 1070 card should.

Average 3D Mark Test on GTX 1070 - (10,968)
My GTX 1070 3D Mark Test - (6,700)

I am pretty far below the average here and I think I can feel it under perform in many games that I play. IE: Overwatch, Path of Exile, Dead Space 3 ect I need some help. I will list below a image file and some tech specs. Thanks for any help.

Computer
OS Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit
MSI 970A Motherboard
AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core
4x4GB DDR3 SDRAM PC3-12800
Samsung SSD 840 Pro 240g
MSI Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070 8GB

I also notice a lot of screen tearing when I try to update to the most up to date graphics card driver so currently I am using, 372.70

Solution
If the processor is massively underperforming and throttling you will see your passmark score severely affected.

That board in particular is well known to be an issue we have seen it before. Very likely the VRMs are cooked on it and the CPU isn't speeding up properly and instead underclocking when pushed.

Right, I see that from the emails but my question is in reguards to the video card under performance issues. Im kinda out of the loop of things but from what I remember I should still get near what the avg is right? I should be in the 10-12k range not 6k

I'm not sure I have the proper equipment to run a voltage test on my motherboard to see if this is the problem or not unfortunately.

You probably don't but being its a known problem with the board, and you are having that problem...

If it looks like a duck and walks like a duck.......
